adventures in flower school

I recently attended a Little Flower School class at Saipua hosted by Nicolette Owens of Nicolette Camille and Sarah Ryhanen of Saipua. I have always been a huge admirer of Saipua and the style of flower design they and Nicolette Camille practice so when I heard about this flower school I was excited to try my hand at it. It was specifically a Peony class and truly it is hard to make anything other than beautiful with such an amazing flower. I had no idea though how many different varieties there were to love! My favorite are still the soft pink full feathery ones but a new one is the coral variety with bright golden yellow centers. The colors went from barely there pink to a deep red and all the shades in between. We also learned about the other flowers and leafy greens that complement such a feminine flower including eucalyptus, nigella, hellebores and this amazing small spider web like flower that I have forgotten the name of. When I took them home they didn’t last too long but while they stuck around they definitely made the days feel special.
